Fresh Food Russia
Fresh Food Russia is an annual forum for the chief executives of production companies, agrarian enterprises that develop commoditised production of fresh produce, and the heads of the fresh produce divisions of the leading retail networks of Russia and the CIS.
Its agenda includes the analysis of Fresh Food market trends and the discussion of solutions to improve business performance, by implementing new systems, financial control, and IT technologies. The joint development of the fresh food sector by the retail and agro industries in Russia. Fresh produce in the retail networks today. The current dynamics of demand by category. Overcoming the logistical issues of fresh food supply. A look at fresh technologies and the standards necessary to work with the retail networks. Therefore, both the expertise of the market leaders and the knowledge of experienced professional consultants are worth their weight in gold. The second part of the agenda aims to determine optimal terms of cooperation between fresh food producers and participants of the processing and delivery chain of the final products to consumers on both domestic and international markets. The annual growth of purchasing prices for fresh food products creates phenomenal prospects for growth. As a result, an increase in strategic investors’ interest in the industry has been seen even during the crisis. Therefore, the Agenda 2010 will pay special attention to these issues.
Retail Business Russia
Our main annual summit is Retail Business Russia. Today, this is a well-known event. The format of the summit - top 1000 gathered together – sets the tone and style of all sessions and personal meetings of its participants. All market leaders, international chains, FMCG producers, national and regional chains consider participation obligatory at the owner and CEO level. The Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry for Economic Development, the State Duma, state corporations, and state banks send their decision-makers to this summit. The summit receives front-page coverage in Russian and international business media. ACORT, SNSR (Russian Union of Independent Chains), ECR, World Retail Congress, CIES, EDRA, and other associations participate in preparation of its agenda under the auspices of BBCG. This is the summit that presents the best with the top industry awards, including Retail Grand-Prix and National Retail Awards.
Retail Business Russia 2010 will include the most effective elements developed over the years: analytical sessions with the participation of the Government, panel discussions of presidents and CEOs of retail chains and production companies, individual focus sessions of recognized industry leaders. Our new project, Retail New Wave, is becoming a real breakthrough in terms of understanding the retail industry’s future. It is a contest of business projects for new store formats among teams of young specialists and Russian-speaking students of prestigious domestic and foreign universities. Retail Business Russia 2010 will be held in Moscow on September 9–10.
DIY and Household Retail
For the past 5 years, a unique platform for solving problems of the industry and its players, DIY and Household Retail summit, has been operating in Russia. And every year it finds new ways to develop. Today, participation of household goods and DIY chains, producers, suppliers, and other business partners in the forum is an essential and the most important element of the year’s business agenda. A continuously growing number of participants, including both global chains and suppliers and new regional retailers, confirms that. The DIY sector has been developing faster than most other sectors even during the recent economic downturn. In 2010 the Summit had all the leading Russian and international players in attendance and proved itself once again to be the main stage from which industry developments and future trends were analysed.
Fashion Retail Russia
Business forum Fashion Retail Russia is the only fashion industry summit in Russia focused on the issues of managing this type of business. Owners and CEOs of retail chains and brands share their experience and jointly analyze new technologies in the fields of logistics, sales, financial management, and marketing. Traditionally, the annual summit sets new, ever higher, targets for the Russian fashion business regarding company management efficiency. In 2009, this process was driven by the economic crisis and the recession in the fashion market. In 2010 the meeting became even more important and urgent, as the players that had survived the crisis began to develop the a strategy for the new market geography. Fashion Consulting Group, and Messe Düsseldorf are the strategic partners of the annual conference.
Food Business Russia
Modern grocery retail formats were the first to start conquering the Russian market. The first conference of food chains was held in Russia on February 5, 2001. Today, food chains remain the leaders of the Russian retail sector. They adapt new technologies more often than others; they prepare employees for the entire market and are the most active participants in the dialogue with the Government on market regulation issues. The largest FMCG producers operate in this sector.
That is why the food market summit Food Business Russia has become a traditional meeting point for all innovative ideas and technologies. In recent years, the role of the producers has been increasing, and efficiency of supply chain and logistics as the major source of quality growth has become the key issue on the agenda. The latter is developed by the Expert Council composed of heads of food retail chains and production companies, and includes only practical issues. The unique feature of the 2010 program was the detailed analysis of the practical application of the new Federal Law on Trade. Its provisions were subjected to impartial professional analysis, and ways were suggested to change the chains’ and respective suppliers’ operations in order to comply with it.
Private Labels and Purchasing Director
Nowadays, during a recession, it becomes obvious that the main performance enhancing potential for retail companies and producers is related to cooperation in the field of sales and logistics. A careful and thorough analysis of optimization opportunities, the selection of the best possible business partners, and the optimal pricing and delivery terms that guarantee sales success are a hallmark of top professionals. Success or failure of a business in the consumer market today really depends on professional buyers and merchants.
The main annual conference for consumer market merchants is the Private Labels & Purchasing Director business summit. In 2006, Private Labels brought together hundreds of participants during the first summit devoted to the issue. Today it is a large summit for the entire industry. Producers and chains' PL directors meet annually to set new targets and determine priority areas for private label development, as well as to discuss the current supply issues. The conference also presents its annual awards for the best national producers of private labels.
Starting in 2009, Purchasing Director business forum is held simultaneously with Private Labels forum. It is the largest meeting of commercial directors and key account managers of companies producing branded goods with chain buyers. The crisis failed to ease the competition for the shelf space of successful retail chains. Moreover, it made the selection even tougher. At the same time, owners of successful brands are getting new instruments for chain sales development in cooperation with the retail operators themselves. The major objectives of the summit are to examine the current market rules, reach agreements and share experience in managing product categories and brand portfolios. Therefore, the summit will include not only traditional panel discussions and plenary meetings, but also personal negotiation sessions.
Board of Directors of the Retail Market
Board of Directors is a closed-door roundtable, an annual summit of top managers of retail companies. Among the narrowly defined list of topics to be discussed are strategic issues of market development and the prospects of market players, as well as joint projects relevant as of the date of the roundtable. The agenda is developed based on the participants’ proposals. Participation is by personal invitation only; first preference is given to the members of BBCG Expert Council, key speakers, and regular participants.
Hotel Industry Russia
Hotel Industry Russia is the only annual project bringing together hoteliers, investors, and suppliers for Russia’s hotel industry. The economic crisis of 2008 brought in dramatic changes in approaches to hotel management. Revival of domestic and international tourism and the flow of business events, that is, the recovery of the market volume, are currently accompanied by unprecedented efforts aimed at performance improvement. The best solutions in this field, analysis of the general market tendencies and subtle market trends form the main agenda of the annual forum. In 2010, the project is to offer specially designed focus sessions with undisputed market leaders for the first time. Participants of the summit will meet with heads of major hotel chains and the most influential leaders in the industry.
